ASL
All
Krystle Wilson will be teaching American Sign Language. We will be learning the alphabet, numbers, simple words and phrases. Talking with your hands has never been so much fun!
Archery & Ping Pong
6+
Two unique activities debut this semester. Join archery instructors Matthew Conlin and Elisa Rogers in the techniques and safety of archery. On too cold or rainy days, you can try your hand at ping pong.
Chess

US top 1% chess player and NC chess coach of the year, Neil Harris invites you into the Challenging world of chess. Learn tactics, strategies, thinking skills and good sportsmanship in this exciting class.
Creative Art
5-7
Graphic designer and artist, Laura Smith, will be leading our young artists in creative exercises that enhance their imagination and increase their fine motor skills. Focusing more on the process than the product, students will enjoy working with clay, beads and other creative expressions.
Dance I

Maggie Murphy, has been mentored by Mrs. Amy Maze the last few years while dancing for Owen High School and currently, Montreat College. She often subs at BMCA and we are thrilled to have her join our staff! She will be teaching different styles of dance including jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, and acro.
Dance II

Techniques of drawing such as perspective, proportions, color and shading will be led by graphic designer and artist, Laura Smith.
English Frills and Math Drills

Mental math games and dressing up English grammar is the core of this class. Sheila Manwaring makes learning fun!
FUNdamentals of Sports
All
Kickball, wiffle ball, track, basketball, frisbee and soccer are a few of the sports athletic trainer, Rob Ames, will lead to develop and strengthen hand eye coordination, agility, speed, and mechanics. (Shin guards required during soccer)
Guitar I

Legos
All
Let’s build together with legos! This class will foster teamwork and problem solving skills while having fun engineering with directed lego creations. Led by the owner of our huge tub of legos, Matthew Conlin, this class will not disappoint. This is two 30 minute classes that you can join for the full hour or one half.
Martial Arts Movement
All
Our favorite triple black belt, Nicole Murray, will be leading a high energy strength and conditioning class revolving around the martial arts. Come kick, jump and hi-ya your way into fitness!
Science
All
Dive into some fun and unusual science experiments that answer questions you didn’t even know you had! Krystle Wilson will be guiding us through the scientific method while exploring a host of new discoveries using books by VanCleaves.
Sew Fun
All
Come learn different kinds of stitches and needle point in this beginner’s sewing class with Sheila Manwarring and Elisa Rogers. It will be sew much fun!
Soccer Skills
8+ with Soccer Experience
Division II track/soccer player and athletic trainer, Rob Ames, is back teaching soccer skills and drills. Come sharpen your game! (Shin guards required)
Strategic Games

Game lover, Nathaniel Schmidt will be teaching some mindfully engaging strategy games while teaching friendly competition. Quick to learn card games will soon be a favorite around your table.
